Operation: Redwing
Shot: Cherokee
Date: May 20, 1956
Detonation: 3.8 Megatons, B-52 airdrop
Location: Bikini Atoll

This was the first airdrop of a thermonuclear weapon. All H-Bomb tests up to this point were devices which could not be weaponized and dropped from an aircraft. This test was almost 200 times greater than the bomb which leveled Nagasaki in 1945.
